Macintosh has its own mail program.  It is very easy to set up and works very well.  The following screenshots show how to set up this mail program.

The first thing that we need to do is setup MacOSX Mail to check your e-mails.

Below is a row of icons.  This is known as the Dock.  Towards the left is a Stamp icon. The stamp has a little eagle on it. Click that picture to open the mail program.

The following window opens.  This is the Mail program.

 

Create & Edit Accounts:

At the bottom of the desktop is a row of icons known as the Dock. Towards the left is a Stamp icon. The stamp has a little eagle on it. Click that picture to open the mail program.

Once opened, click Mail on the toolbar and select Preferences from the menu.

The Mail Preferences window appears. Click to highlight Accounts.

Check accounts for new mail  =  Mail will check for messages every-so-often depending on the interval you choose.

Play sound when new mail arrives  =  Mail plays the sound of your choosing when you receive new email.

To create a new account, click Create Account or to edit an account, click Edit.  Both lead to the following screen:

The Account Information tab.

This is where you can modify the information you entered when setting up the account.

Email Address  =  Enter your email address here.

Host Name:  Type mail.i-c.net.

Account Type  =  Should always be set to POP.

User Account ID  =  The first part of your email address (everything before the @i-c.net

Password  =  Enter your password.  It is encrypted so you'll only see dots.

SMTP Host  = Usually follows this format: zeus.i-c.net.

Important:  Access Technology requires SMTP authentication to send mail through our system. This is to prevent spammers from sneaking into our system to harass everyone with spam. SMTP authentication must be enabled or you will not be able to send mail. To enable this, check Use authentication when sending mail.  Enter your username in the SMTP User field and your password below it.

Select the Account Options tab.

We highly recommend deleting messages on the server after downloading. Otherwise, your mailbox will quickly get full and you won't be able to get new messages if the box is full. Click OK when your done selecting options.
